Architectural Visualization
Contemporary Calgary is the transformation and expansion of Calgary's iconic 1967 Centennial Planetarium into a leading destination for contemporary art, education, and community gathering. The project preserves the landmark Brutalist architecture while introducing a new entrance pavilion, gallery and education wing, public event spaces, and a sculpture park that strengthens connections to the Bow River and surrounding neighbourhood. Through adaptive reuse, improved accessibility, and sustainable design, the redevelopment reimagines a historic civic building as a vibrant cultural hub that celebrates both Calgary's architectural heritage and its future as a center for arts and public life.
My role: Contributed to the architectural renderings by translating KPMB's design vision into compelling visuals while preserving the defining character of the existing landmark building. The work focused on balancing the new interventions with the original architecture, clearly communicating how the contemporary addition integrates with and enhances the historic structure.
